Reminder about copying others' work
Academic Dishonesty:
Any type of academic dishonesty may result in a failing grade for the assignment and/or course. Examples include the following: looking in the direction of another student's quiz/exam or computer screen, checking your cell phone during a test, plagiarism, downloading and/or exchanging files, substituting another student's work for your own, using “cheat sheets,” etc.
Plagiarism:
Copying from books, magazines, your friends, or the Internet and using it in your own work without naming the author and source is called plagiarism and is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Plagiarism is considered cheating, is a very serious offense, and can result in very bad consequences for you. It is easily discovered and it may cause you to fail your classes or even be kicked out of school. Plagiarism will also greatly slow your progress in learning to write proficiently in English. In this class, plagiarism in written work or oral presentations can result in a zero (0/100) on the assignment, and could even result in failing this course. When you write a summary or an essay or give an oral presentation, both the choice of words and the grammatical structure must be your own. To avoid plagiarism, ALWAYS do your own work !
